Trip Report: Royal Caribbean Wonder of the Seas - Day 3

Cast of Characters: me, TK, Addie, Jax, Mom, Dad, Uncle George, and Aunt Rosie

Setting: At sea on the Wonder of the Seas

Day 3

Today, we awoke and got our lattes to head to the Windjammer buffet for breakfast. The Wonder of the Seas has the largest Windjammer in all of Royal Caribbean's fleet. It was kind of busy but we managed to score a big table. Afterward, we went to Cash Bingo and lost. It was $40 for a few sheets and a few tear sheets. The idea was to fill your whole card to win. That was the only game; no exes, no lines, and not even just BINGO. As I said, we didn't win, but the person who did won $500. We thought that was a very low prize for all of the people who were there. There were like 60 people playing and if each of them spent the $40, then they should have given away $2,400 or a little less if the house took 10% of the proceeds. Anyway, we thought it was ridiculous and vowed to never play again.

As Bingo losers, we decided to head over to the sixth deck so TK and Uncle George could join the Cornhole Tournament. Well, that was a recreation fail as well. One person played at a time and they accumulated points through six throws each. It took a long time, so Jax, Mom, and I rode the Abyss.

A Climbing Course for Kids

It was time for lunch so we went to Playmakers, a sports bar, and Addie and I headed over to the Promenade area to watch the Anchors Aweigh Parade from the elevators while we waited for our food. The full review of Playmakers can be viewed on Yumness. Then we went to speak to the representative at Next Cruise so we could see what we could book for next year. I took all of the information and looked at the dates. We vowed to come back after we made a better decision.

Sangria at Playmakers

Half of us went to the casino and the rest of us went to see if the kids could rock climb. They both got like four inches off the ground before quitting, so that was a fail. They were frustrated, so we headed back to the room to get ready for Disney Trivia and dinner.

When we got to Disney Trivia, it was a packed small room. We got 23 of 24 available points, but no one won anything, so it was just a test of our knowledge. That was also a recreation stinker. Bingo, Cornhole, and Trivia were all bad, so Royal Caribbean needs to really step up its game. Winners should at least get a hat or a shirt or even a can koozie. When we were on other cruise lines, the winners were able to take something home to tell the story of their win.

For dinner, we headed to Hooked and you can view my full review on Yumness. I ordered the Whole Lobster and wore a lovely bib. Since Addie didn't want to eat anything, I took her over to Windjammer afterward for some chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes, and fruit.

When everyone's dinner was over, we dropped the kids off at Adventure Ocean and went to Next Cruise to just put a deposit down so we could receive the benefits of booking early on our next cruise. When we were done, we suggested to Dad and Uncle George that they should do the same and they did.

Lavender Daquiri at Schooners

TK and I went to Schooners for a drink and then Cafe Promenade for a latte for TK and Bionic Bar for a robot-made cocktail. We sat out in Central Park before picking up the kids at Adventure Ocean. TK headed to the casino to meet my parents and the kids and I went for a Cookies and Cream Milkshake at Johnny Rockets, a latte, and some cookies before returning to the room to turn in.
